Reflections in Time - Girls and Their Dolls
SUNSHINE

This doll depicts a typical Lakota Sioux Indian girl and the type of doll she would have played with in 1860.

Sunshine plays with her doll in it’s cradle board made of animal hide beaded by her mother. As Sunshine grows older she too will learn the intricate art of beading and perhaps make a doll for her little sister. The papoose was also made of hide and stuffed with buffalo hair.

Sunshine wears an intricately hand beaded ceremonial dress, with beaded leggings and moccasins to match. Real suede is used for all of the attire. She wears real shell earrings and necklace. She comes with the rock to sit on, an animal hide and her doll in a cradle board. The custom made cradle board she holds is extensively beaded and also made of real leather and suede. Her papoose is wrapped snugly in a blanket and fur.

This doll, her outfit and accessories are one of a kind originals, there is no other doll like her in the World!
