Reflections in Time - Girls and Their Dolls

Over the years, my mother and I have had many talks about dolls and how they were a delightful part of our childhood. I love listening to my mother’s stories of her relationships with her special doll “friends”. Some she could bathe such as Betsy Wetsy, some were for display like Nancy Ann Story Book Dolls, and others were “little girl” dolls fun to dress and redress, such as Shirley Temple. While time changes much, some things remain the same; little girls love their dolls.

Thinking about the history of dolls, I began to imagine what type of doll a little girl would have played with at various points in time. What were the circumstances of that time period, how would that little girl be dressed and why. I then decided to make such a match come to life by creating “Reflections in Time, Little Girls and Their Dolls”.

These are my first and I have many more eras to explore. I hope to add to this fun adventure of little girls and their dolls. I hope you enjoy going through time with them; just let your imagination take you on a ride with each different little girl, her doll, and what her life may have been like.
